Pork Academy Field Day

This hands-on field day is designed to help California youth exhibitors learn more about themselves, their projects and the pork industry while building skills they can carry with them far beyond the show ring. Throughout the day, youth will learn from industry professionals and participate in interactive sessions focused on pig health and care, biosecurity, pork cuts and understanding the product they raise, career opportunities, creating an educational display and communicating their own “why” as a pork industry advocate. Whether you're raising your first project or have spent years in the show ring, Pork Academy is an opportunity to ask questions, try something new and better understand the responsibility and industry behind raising pigs.

The California Pork Producers Association Annual Meeting will take place following this event at 5 p.m. at the DoublyTree by Hilton Downtown Modesto.
